It started on a freezing night in Chicago, 2019.
Emma Liu was a veterinary assistant at a small animal clinic. In her spare time, she volunteered at a local no‑kill shelter calledPaw Haven. One January evening, she brought home a scared, underweight cat she had just rescued from a hoarding situation. The cat, a gray tabby she namedLeo, trembled every time someone touched him. He had dry, flaky skin and would hide under the sofa for hours.
Emma tried every cat care product she could find – from brushes to shampoos to treats.
The tools were often too harsh, making Leo flinch. The formulas were full of strong scents or bitter tastes that made him sneeze and run away.
“If I can’t find something gentle enough for Leo,”she thought,“how many other cats are suffering from the same problem?”
So Emma began to create her own gentle formulas in her kitchen. She used simple, natural ingredients – no fragrance, no alcohol, no harsh chemicals. She designed soft, rounded tools that wouldn’t startle a nervous cat. Every batch was tested first on Leo. If he wouldn’t accept it, she went back to the drawing board.
But she didn’t stop there. Emma brought her first ten small batches toPaw Havenand asked the shelter staff to try them on ten cats with different personalities – shy, aggressive, old, and young.
Seven of those cats showed visible signs of relaxation(like purring or kneading) within three days. One volunteer wrote back:“The shyest cat, Misty, let us touch her face for the first time in six months.”
Encouraged by this feedback, Emma launchedWarmkynin early 2020.
A brand built on trust, not hype.
Every product we make is still tested first on Leo and at least ten other shelter cats before it ever reaches a store shelf.
We also donate$1 from every item soldto local cat rescue organizations across the U.S.
